Agenda Papers are published to Modern.Gov.  It is therefore important that all Councillors have access to this tool.

Papers can also be viewed on the Tunbridge Wells Borough Council website, but this will only show papers for public meetings and that are in the public domain (working group papers and restricted papers will not be available).

Councillors should download the Modern.Gov APP to the device they intend to use for Council Purposes.

There are two stages to the process – creating a password and registering the APP :

You can create your password on the Council’s Extranet site.

  1. Go to the the Council’s Extranet site.
  2. Then click ‘Forgotten your password’.
  3. The next screen will take you to ‘Request Password Reset’.
  4. It will now ask you to enter your username – this will be your Tunbridge Wells email account.
  5. You will then get a message to say you have requested a new password and that an email will be sent to you.
  6. When you receive the email, it will include the following instructions ‘Reset Your Password’.
  7. Please click on the link.
  8. An Extranet page will open giving the opportunity to enter a new password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include a capital letter and at least one digit.

Note: Unlike your email account password, this password does not change. It will be valid for the length of time you remain a Councillor.

  • Download Modern.Gov to your chosen device.
  • Once the app has been downloaded, please contact a member of the Dem Services team and ask them to send you a registration email.
  • You will then receive a registration email, please click on the link.
  • Please note, the registration email is only valid for 48 hours.  If you miss this window, please contact Dem Services and ask them to resend the email.
  • Once you click on the link it will take you to the APP Page – click on Modern.Gov.
  • It will now ask you for your password.
  • This should now take you into Modern.Gov.

Note: If for some reason, the system does not recognise your password, please contact Dem Services who will be able to reset it for you.

Once the registration process has been completed, you should now be able to access all agenda papers.

A good way to double check you are able to see restricted papers is to look at the top left hand corner of the screen – it should say ‘Tunbridge Wells Private’.  If it says ‘Tunbridge Wells Public’ you will not have access to restricted papers.

Access to ‘Tunbridge Wells Private’ requires a password.  If you have not been asked to put a password in, you are in the public site.

You can now choose the Committees you want to view papers:

  • At the top right hand corner of the screen, there is a settings button. Tap on the button.
  • Find ‘Select Committees of Interest’ – press select.
  • You will now see a list of all the Committees available.  Tick those of interest, and then press ok.
  • The first time you do this, the system may take a little while to download all the various agenda papers.
  • Once downloaded, select a Committee and the most recent agendas will now appear. To view the papers, just tap on the agenda of interest.
  • If you forget your password, please just contact a member of the Dem Services Team who will be able to reset it for you.
  • Registration is device specific so if you change the device you use for Council Business, please contact Dem Services and ask for a new registration email to be sent.  You will now need to reregister as detailed above.
