Members and officers must comply with the relevant Codes of Conduct relating to gifts and hospitality.

You should exercise caution in accepting any gifts or hospitality and you should not accept significant gifts or hospitality from persons seeking to do business with the Council or apply to the Council for any permission or licence.

You must register any gifts or hospitality with a value of over £50 within 28 days of receiving or being offered it (even where you have rejected a gift or hospitality).

You do not need to register gifts and hospitality which are not related to your role (such as gifts from friends and family). Further details are available in the Code of Conduct (Part 5 of the Council Constitution) and advice can be sought from the Monitoring Officer.
